Education
I studied Multimedia & Digital Arts at Monash University from 2004 to 2006 where I was exposed to a broad range of subjects that introduced me to HTML/CSS web design, digital video editing, 3D animation, illustration, design theory, interface design, and others.
When advised to specialize in one or two areas, I found myself drawn to Adobe Flash and the Actionscript language. I loved how programming would let you create things that moved, made sounds and were interactive really quickly and so it even became a hobby for me in my spare time.
I graduated with a High Distiction average.
Work
Having completed my university course I found myself a great job at an agency that specialised almost exclusively in Adobe Flash work. Here I learnt even more about better programming with OOP practices and design patterns, debugging solutions and managing my time to meet tight deadlines.
I became very familiar with Adobe Flex and, later, Flash Builder (they became day to day tools), got involved in a lot of character and ad-banner animation, learned how to interpret server requests and responses using web debugging proxys such as Charles, achieved a good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Managment Studio, and also became the main developer resposible for a re-usable Flex content managment system which we used to power most of our websites.
